Marlene's father, Arlen, was the lead toy designer at Wilson Atomatoyscorporate HQ, which didn't give him much free time outside of work.[1] This was exacerbated by the company's loss of sales and his efforts to correct them. She was six years old when the bombs fell, and her home was completely destroyed.[2] When Arlen finally made it back to check up on them, he only found an irradiated crater. Saddened at the loss of his family, he simply laid down at the bottom and went to sleep, only to wake up a ghoul.[3]
