The Man Opener is a unique auto axe found in Fallout 3 The Pitt add-on.
Characteristics
Though the weapon deals less damage than The Mauler, the Man Opener ignores normal damage resistance, similar to the deathclaw gauntlet. This property makes it more useful in some situations; for example, when going up against aliens with inertia suppression fields or Enclave Hellfire troopers.
Durability
Man Opener can successfully strike about 457 times from full condition before breaking.
Variants
- Steel saw : A weaker version of the auto-axe that can be found on certain slaves.
- The Mauler : The strongest variant of the auto-axe.
- Auto axe : A modified and stronger version of the steel saw made out of old car parts.

Location
The weapon is found on a bed in the back of the supply plant in The Pitt steelyard close to a single steel ingot. Enter the plant, then go east through the hallway. Turn north and continue until you reach two exits. Take the left, continue through the passage, climb the stairs and eventually exit into a large room. There's a bed on the left as you enter. The Man Opener is on the bed.
Behind the scenes
The name is a pun on the name of a common kitchen tool, a can opener.
