The Malden Middle School is a location in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4.
Layout
This location is a schoolhouse that is mostly intact on the outside with one corner of the building missing. In the basement you will find Vault 75 guarded by some Gunners. The Vault is divided in three sections, the common, lab and admin area. To access the lab and admin area key cards are necessary to unlock the security doors. Downstairs is a combat simulation room, where you can use the terminal to initiate a combat training game and record your score online. This room also contains a dead body that has an Access Card needed to open up sealed doors in the vault.
The Admin section of the vault can be found deeper in the vault behind the sealed doors. Some of the doors that lead to the Vault Overseer room within this section require an Admin access card, which can be acquired/looted from one of the enemies lurking within.
Notable loot
- Science bobblehead - On the desk overlooking the subterranean combat simulator, inside the Vault building, Basement level 3.
- Grognak the Barbarian - On the bed, inside the Overseer’s office
- Vault-Tec lunchbox Inside Vault 75, down the elevator and to the left behind a crate.
Notes
- Once the basement is entered and the Vault discovered, Malden Middle School will no longer be marked on the Sole Survivor's Pip-Boy map. Instead, the standard gear logo will replace the school's, marking the location of Vault 75.
- On the second level, in the bedrooms there are wooden blocks spelling out the word "Gary"
- If the basement is entered after the main Institute plot is completed, the Sole Survivor may encounter Synths with all of the Gunners appearing to have been killed by the Synths.
- One may find the Brotherhood of Steel in the vault having killed the Gunners already.
Appearances
The Malden Middle School only appears in Fallout 4.
