The Malamute Saloon is Redding's premier drinking establishment.

Background

It offers drinks (at a rather high price), beds, prostitutes, and a brawl from time to time.

Layout

The Saloon is divided into two distinct parts. The bar is the biggest in terms of size, here the main counter (where the owner, Louise, typically stands) is located, as well as seats and tables for the clientele. A large distilling apparatus is located in front of what's probably the most eyecatching feature, a full-sized Vault-Tec shelter advertisement.

The second half, accessible through the door next to the counter, houses Louise's chamber and four rentable rooms of dubious standard (although they can be rented with a full bed). Tunnels running underneath Redding can be accessed through a manhole in the corridor.

Behind the scenes

The location may be a reference to the Malamute Saloon in the narrative poem The Shooting of Dan McGrew by Robert W. Service.
