Magical companion ammo (Fallout: New Vegas) is a type of ammunition in Fallout: New Vegas.
About
The Magical Companion Ammo is a special ammo type that companions with a ranged weapon use when no regular ammo is in their inventory, Magical Companion Ammo is presumably infinite and hidden. e.g. Boone has an endless amount of ammo for his hunting rifle, and as there is only his clothing in his inventory, the Magical Companion Ammo is hidden. Otherwise, the player could obtain infinite ammo.
Notes
- Pipboy and in game graphics use those on the 10mm round.
- Leaving a companion without any of their Magical Companion Ammo will mean that they will be unable to fire their ranged weapon until the ammo is returned.
- If you use this ammo for Lily's Assault Carbine for instance, the ammo will not be unlimited. It will be fired like regular ammo.
- A way to get this ammo is to reverse pickpocket an explosive into their inventory. Alternatively (if you don't want to obliterate them), reverse pickpocketing a weapon and its ammo into their inventory, then pickpocketing the weapon back out will occasionally yield the same results.
- On the PC version, an alternative method to add this ammo type to your inventory is to using console commands by typing player.additem 00176e54 x where x is the number of rounds of Magical Companion Ammo that you wish to add.
