Mad Scientist is a challenge in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.
Challenge requirements[]
“Have an experiment go horribly awry.”— Challenge description
The Courier must perform the experiment at the X-8 research center's splicing laboratory (go through the left-hand doorway looking from the entrance) that involves splicing a dog and a lobotomite. The resulting creation will be an inert pile of gore and viscera.

This challenge grants the following upon completion:

- This challenge is not repeatable.
- The holotape required to unlock the experiment option at the splicing laboratory can be found on a table next to a terminal in the observatory room overlooking the Residential Testing Chamber where one encounters Gabe during the main quest X-8: High School Horror!. The room is reached after exiting the X-8 testing facility and once at the fork, taking a right and following the hallways all the way to the last observational room; beware as when first coming through here, there will be one or two Protectrons and three to four lobotomites.
