The MIRV launcher causes an affected weapon to fire multiple mini nukes at once rather than just one. It decreases overall weapon damage but fires more projectiles in a wider area.

Behind the scenes[]
MIRV stands for Multiple Independently-targetable Reentry Vehicle, and is a missile payload containing multiple warheads, each capable of being aimed at a different target. Essentially, it's a missile that can strike multiple locations with one launch.
