Oh, but aren't we all pets of our Lord? He built this menagerie, and chose each of us to live in his world.

Lulu is a raider and chef in the Pitt in 2277.

Background[]

Lulu roams Uptown's walkways, praising Lord Ashur and feeding noodles to Uptown's raider population. An insane but fiercely loyal follower of Ashur, Lulu refers to everyone as "pets" belonging to Ashur, because Ashur chose all of them, including herself, to be in his company. She makes a distinction between "good" and "bad" pets: those who contribute and earn their keep are "good," while the "bad" ones are drowned in the Monongahela River.[1] Lulu also constantly refers to herself in the third person.[2] Her devotion to Ashur borders on the religious, and she is excited to see how Ashur judges the Lone Wanderer.[3][Non-game 1]

  1. The Lone Wanderer: "Don't call me a pet, you freak."
Lulu: "Oh, but aren't we all pets of our Lord? He built this menagerie, and chose each of us to live in his world. Good pets do work, find food, build weapons, and kill the unclean. Good pets get food and Lord Ashur loves them. Bad pets get drowned in the rivers. Lulu knows all about being good. So Lulu is in charge of feeding other good pets!"

  2. The Lone Wanderer: "I'll tell you what's special about me: I kick ass."
Lulu: "Ha! That rules out your wit. It must be something else that makes you so interesting to our lord. Lulu will see soon enough. Oh yes. But first, perhaps Ashur's pet needs to be fed?"
    (Lulu's dialogue)
  3. The Lone Wanderer: "What do you mean about Ashur's "keen eyes"?"
Lulu: "The Lord of The Pitt knows all, and his eyes see promise where others see rubble. What does he see in you? A cure? A scourge? Or maybe nothing more than a plaything? Soon, Lulu will see what lies inside you! But first, perhaps Ashur's pet needs to be fed?
    (Lulu's dialogue)

  1. Fallout 3 Official Game Guide Game of the Year Edition p.82:
    "Lulu:
There are various categories of "insane," and Lulu's mechanism has definitely gone, but she's still functional with a rifle and loyal to the Pitt Raider cause. Excitable, she treats the Lone Wanderer as a pet, even giving you food if you play along with her addled mind."
