The Library of Alexandria was a massive collection of written knowledge in ancient Egypt.

Background

The library was destroyed in ancient times, with the writings housed within all lost. When Moira Brown sends the Lone Wanderer to the Arlington Library to retrieve data to help write her book, instead of doing as she asked, they can lie and say the entire building was destroyed. Moira will be horrified by the lost, exclaiming that it is "[j]ust like the Library of Alexandria County," a misnomer.[1]

Appearances

Library of Alexandria is mentioned only in Fallout 3.

References

  1. The Lone Wanderer: "I went to the site of the library, but the building was destroyed." <Lie.>
Moira Brown: "Really? All of it? Not even a single, tattered paperback? Oh, that's terrible. Just like the Library of Alexandria County. What a loss to the world. But... I guess I promised you some pay, didn't I? Here's some caps. But it's nothing compared to the wealth of knowledge we've all lost."
