This page is about the weapon that appears in Fallout: New Vegas. For appearances in other games, see lead pipe. |
The lead pipe is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
A one-handed blunt melee weapon. Though it has a short reach, it has decent damage and a fast swing, making it an effective early-game weapon for melee-focused characters.
Visually, the weapon reflects its simple origins as one of the ends has tape wrapped around it to improve grip, while the other is heavily corroded and/or bloodstained and topped with a pipe fitting.
Special attack[]
The lead pipe has a special Lights Out attack that does 125% damage in V.A.T.S. at the cost of 6 more action points (requires a Melee skill of 50).

It is possible to execute Lights Out outside of V.A.T.S. (without the required Melee skill of 50 to perform the move) by initiating a power attack (hold attack button) while moving forward.
Durability[]
The lead pipe can successfully strike about 245 times from full condition before breaking.
Variants[]
- The Humble Cudgel - a unique variant found in the sealed sewers in West Vegas.
- Raul's lead pipe - a unique non-playable weapon used by Raul Tejada. It only differs from the standard variant in having a slightly longer reach.
