Katherine[1] "Katy" Pinn is a school teacher living in Vault 81 in 2287.
Background[]
Katy is the teacher in Vault 81, having been assigned and trained the role following her G.O.A.T. at age 16. She has since been responsible for educating the children of the Vault; her teaching covers general skill along with the G.O.A.T., preparing her students for future life in the Vault.[2] She expresses that she likes her job though finds it frustrating at times.[2][3] Being saddened by the overall decreasing class sizes, along with her desire for more educational material about the Commonwealth, Katy questions her ability to teach effectively.[4][5][6] She would relish the opportunity to question a visiting wastelander to share their experiences with her class. However, she feels safer within Vault 81 itself.[7]

Notes[]
Due to a scripting issue, the scripted scene of Katy explaining the G.O.A.T. to the children in her classroom in the presence of the player character, does not play as intended. This is due to it running once and the quest script ending with Katy going to bed, meaning it ends before the player character enters the Vault.
Notable quotes[]
"You're that new traveler. You must have had so many adventures out in the Commonwealth."
Appearances[]
Katy Pinn appears only in Fallout 4.

Erin Combes: "Generalized Occupational Attitude Test?"
Katy Pinn: "Very close, Erin. It's the Generalized Occupational Aptitude Test. The G.O.A.T. is used to determine what your best skillsets are and assign you the appropriate career within the Vault."
Austin Engill: "What if we don't like it? I don't want be stuck doing security or anything."
Katy Pinn: "If you don't like your results, you'll have to take it up with the Overseer when the time comes. Lucky for all of you, the G.O.A.T. isn't given until you're 16 years of age. Now here are some example images that you'll be shown."
Austin Engill: "Ew."
Katy Pinn: "Each image is associated with a question and will have four answers to choose from. The image you're shown presents a situation, and each of the answers is a reaction. For example. This image was used in previous tests to ask which position you'd prefer. Pitcher, Catcher, Designated Hitter, or None. You wish the Vault had a soccer team. Your results are then fed into the computer to calculate your appropriate career."
Erin Combes: "We don't even have real sports here."
Katy Pinn: "It's ok, Erin. You'll choose the answer based on how you feel. Use instinct and be as honest as possible. Otherwise, that's a sure way to end up in an occupation that's not suitable for you. Any questions?"
Erin Combes: "Did the G.O.A.T. say you should be a teacher, Miss Pinn?"
Katy Pinn: "Yes, it did. And I feel very lucky to be teaching all of you today."
Austin Engill: "What if we don't want to stay in the Vault?"
Katy Pinn: "Well, unfortunately the G.O.A.T. only designates careers within the Vault itself. If you'd like to pursue something outside of the Vault, you'd want to discuss that with the Overseer."
Austin Engill: "Aw, she'd never let me go."
Katy Pinn: "Give it time. You still have six years to take the test. A lot can change between then and now."
