Detailed walkthrough[]
You found Jonny in the Slags' underground cistern. Now, you need to prove that you're here to take him home. To do that, DO NOT tell him "Want some candy, little boy?", but tell him that his father Balthas wants him to come home.
He'll tell you to speak with Vegeir, the Slag leader.
None shall pass[]
Vegeir won't let you take Jonny home until the Modoc situation is resolved. Find Karl, and calm Jo's fears. Then, and only then, will Vegeir let Jonny (with the Chosen One as an escort) return to Modoc.

Notes[]
The European version of Fallout has no sprites for children and they cannot be spoken to nor interacted with; this results in Laddie running up to the spot where Jonny should be and just staring longingly at an empty space, making this quest impossible to complete without telling Balthas that Jonny is dead.
