John Herndon Mercer (November 18, 1909 – June 25, 1976) was an American lyricist, songwriter and singer.

Career[]

With the Pied Pipers, he recorded the song "Personality," which appears on the Fallout 4 soundtrack.

Additionally, Mercer wrote the song "Just a Fair Weather Friend," which was recorded by Henry King and his Orchestra and appears on the Fallout 76 soundtrack. His vocals also appear briefly in "Mister Five by Five" on Appalachia Radio.

He also wrote "Something's Gotta Give", which appears in Fallout: New Vegas in a version performed by Bing Crosby.

He wrote "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive", which appears in Fallout 4 performed by Bing Crosby and by Mercer himself with The Pied Pipers in the Fallout TV series episode "The Golden Rule".
