Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

FB8 deco 301 color.pngThe following is based on unverified behind the scenes information and is speculative and may not be accurate.

The item could be a reference to a Jamaican ginger extract known as "Jake." It was a medicine in the times of Prohibition which contained between 70-80% ethanol by weight. Bootleggers, attempting to come up with a new additive that would keep the concoction drinkable while fooling the government's tests, used tricresyl phosphate. Though they believed it to be non-toxic, it was in fact a neurotoxin that gave rise to a type of paralysis named "jake leg."
