Jacklyn is a wastelander residing near Nipton in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[]
At some point in her life, Jacklyn heard the story about the secret value of Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle caps and the "treasure" they were tied to, and started collecting them, to the degree that she's willing to lie, steal, and murder anyone she suspects of having even one, much like another infamous star-cap hunter, Allen Marks.
Sometime around October 2281, Jacklyn met Tomas and offered to travel with him. Unbeknownst to Tomas, who thought she was friendly company, Jacklyn suspected him of carrying some star bottle caps, which was later confirmed when he showed off his "lucky" star-cap necklace, resulting in Jacklyn attacking him outside of Nipton shortly before the Courier arrives.

- The Star Showdown: If she survives the gunfight with Tomas, she approaches the player character claiming her innocence. If one mentions that Tomas was looking for Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle caps, once the dialogue ends, she will seemingly walk away and then attack them once they look away from her. If one has a 7 Intelligence attribute level, she can be called out on her lie and turns hostile immediately.
- If Tomas's journal is looted from his body, one can start the dialogue with her again. If one has Terrifying Presence, they can demand she hand over all her star bottle caps; otherwise, she will turn hostile.

- If she survives the fight with Tomas and the confrontation with the Courier, Jacklyn will try to reach the Mojave Outpost. Once there, she will disappear from the game, despawning near the locked gate in the southwest corner.
- Tomas and Jacklyn only appear in the game after the player character has picked up at least one Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap.
- In the game files, the name for Jacklyn's dialogue script is "SSHQJacklyn", likely referring to the Sunset Sarsaparilla headquarters, despite Jacklyn never appearing near there nor going to that location after her unmarked quest; if left alive, she instead goes to the Mojave Outpost and disappears from the game.
