Initiates are junior members in the Brotherhood of Steel.[1]

Overview[]

Initiates are the lowest ranking members of the Brotherhood. Anyone recruited into the Brotherhood of Steel starts at the rank of initiate, and is mentored by a higher-ranking sponsor,[2] while children born into the Brotherhood of Steel begin their training, and indoctrination, as squires.[3]

Initiates train and learn to become knights or scribes (or lancers after their creation). Once they finish their training, they choose their path of development.[4][5][6][7][8][9]

Squire[]

A squire is the youngest member of the Brotherhood, expected to study and train in order to be granted the rank of initiate. Squires are, more often than not, children born into the Brotherhood, trained from a young age. There are a few exceptions where children not born into the Brotherhood have made it in.[10][11]

Initiate[]

Initiate is the lowest rank in the Brotherhood of Steel.[1]

Senior initiate[]

Senior initiates are initiates which have completed basic training and moved on to more advanced training.[12]
