The following is based on information from Fallout Tactics. |
C-27 Series humanoid robots[1] are a type of robot utilized by the Calculator in Fallout Tactics.
Background[]
Created by the Acme corporation before the Great War, C-27 Series humanoid robots are the main workforce for the Calculator. As the name states, they are bi-pedal, two-armed robots, about the size of a large man. Due to budget cutbacks by the Department of Defense (because of a false sense of safety as a result of the repeated drills) for Vault 0, several important backup systems were not included in the neuro-link systems.
This resulted in the corruption of the Calculator and instead of releasing the robots to make the Wasteland safe for humanity (it appears to be designed to adapt to human technology and weaponry), the robots manufactured from Vault 0 used its arsenal and anywhere else that sufficient armament could be found, to exterminate all life, completing the so-called "pacification protocol." It can use most normal human equipment, with any sort of RS-231.5 interface required by most robotics.
The C-27 Series humanoid robots are devastating war machines built from pre-War technology. They have high damage capacity, including most resistances, but are especially vulnerable to EMP weapons. They never get perks but get an extra 5 skill points per level.
History[]
The humanoid robots were the main combat unit of the Calculator's army. The first one to appear (partially) in-game was the mechanical arm, found in Rock Falls. It was being studied by the raiders, who had been fighting a new menace from the West, implied to be the Calculator's army. Obtaining the artifact was one of the main objectives of the Brotherhood of Steel, in the attack of Rock Falls. The second one encountered was one which was destroyed by Junction City's defenders. It had in fact been already severely damaged after slaughtering a group of super mutants.
Characteristics[]
The robots are a hard wake-up call for the Warrior's squad. After raiders, beastlords, super mutants, reavers, and rogue Brotherhood members in power armor come the endgame enemies, which boast a 50% base damage resistance for normal damage, on top of bonus resistance conferred by each type of enemy. Humanoid robots have three hundred hit points, a total of 65% damage resistance on top of damage threshold reduction, and can use all human weapons (though less competently than prior enemies).
Conventional weapons that worked before suffer a dramatic reduction in effective damage, with mainstays like the sniper rifle useless even for plinking (as the robots return fire). To reliably fight robots, in particular humanoids, automatic weapons and big guns provide temporary reprieve (or dedicated anti-robot ammunition), but to effectively bridge the gap upgrading to energy weapons (generously provided by robots themselves) and high-tier heavy weapons, like the Browning M2, is all but necessary.

Effects of player's actions[]
At the end of Fallout Tactics, the Warrior may destroy the Calculator, disabling all humanoid robots. The only possible survivor is HR 1205, though its fate will not be revealed.
The Warrior may also choose to merge with the Calculator or ask Simon Barnaky to do so, which results in the robots being repurposed for the Brotherhood of Steel.
