For the Fallout 76 character, see Hugo Stolz. |
Hugo is a former raider that can be found dead in Hugo's Hole in 2287.
Background[]
Hugo was a member of the raider posse living in Dunwich Borers who left the group and moved to a makeshift stronghold nearby.[1] When the Sole Survivor first arrives in the vicinity, a gunshot can be heard. Upon making their way through the booby-trapped entrance, they find Hugo's corpse on his bed.
Next to his body, there is a table with a hazmat suit, a Mr. Handy model kit, and a holotape which gives details of his struggle.[Non-game 1] Listening to the tape reveals that Hugo was under the influence of some kind of supernatural force that he referred to as "it."[1] He plotted to go back into the quarry and kill all his former gang mates,[1] but "it" kept him from doing so.[1]

- Hugo, as heard on his holotape, is voiced by audio director Mark Lampert, who also voiced the Dunwich - Management holotape.
Bugs[]
It is possible that Hugo's body may not appear. Reloading to a previous save should fix this. [verified]

Between the thick cubes of marble on the northeast side of Dunwich Borers is the well-defended hidey-hole of Hugo, a local explorer. Listen to his Holotape for clues regarding the horrors at the adjacent quarry. Unlock his trunk (Expert) if you’re the pilfering sort. There’s a hazmat suit here, too, if you need to swim down an ancient irradiated well for some reason. Did you also check Hugo’s sleeping area for a metal shelf with a robot model kit on it? Have you found them all yet?"
