Layout[edit | edit source]
Outside there are two staircases that lead to the front entrance of the visitor center. In the back of the building, there is a ladder to the roof, which also has a door that leads to the second floor.
Entering from the front entrance, the front desk is immediately within. A terminal and the Hoover Dam snow globe rest on the counter. To the left of the front desk is the elevator to Hoover Dam offices, and in the back is a door to a storage closet. On the second floor is another elevator to the offices and in the back, the staircase to the roof. There's also another door to the exterior of the Hoover Dam.
Notable loot[edit | edit source]
- The Hoover Dam snow globe can be found on the reception desk, next to a terminal.
Notes[edit | edit source]
On the first approach to the exterior main entrance, a generic NCR ranger will be seen standing outside the door. Talking to the ranger will reveal that Colonel Cassandra Moore is a hard-driving, tough and scary leader. This adds color to the quests involving Moore, such as For the Republic, Part 2.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Hoover Dam visitor center appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Hoover Dam visitor center is based on the visitor center atop the real world Hoover Dam, located on the Nevada side. The distinctive speckled floors seen in-game strike a strong resemblance to the black and white terrazzo flooring of the real world location, as well as the appearance of golden Art Deco and southwestern themed inlays.
