Find a cure for a deadly addiction.

Honor Bound is a main quest in Fallout 76, introduced in the Expeditions: Atlantic City update part two, America's Playground.

Background[]

Abbie Russo has become addicted to the Devil's Blood, a vile chem from Atlantic City. In her stupor, she suggested that her father Antonio may know more about the chem. Abbie's brother Vin asks the dwellers to question Antonio in the hope of finding a cure.

Walkthrough[]

The attack on the Rose Room and Evelyn's work have brought the Russos no closer to a resolution. The first objective of this quest, talking to Antonio upstairs, gives no further information on the Devil's Blood, as he appears to be completely senile and detached from reality. When the players return to Vin, he remembers that his father used to make trips into the flooded city center that may be related to the trade of the Devil's Blood. He resolves to meet Sloane Cao, his old friend and a Muni, and see if she can help locate the mob's chem laboratory.

Upon traveling to the city center, Vin makes the mistake of whistling to get Sloane's attention. The Overgrown attack the player's group, with Sloane arriving during the attack and helping to fight them off. During the conversation, Sloane reveals that she may know where the warehouse is located, but requests that the player rescues the scattered Muni crew near the Vertibird landing zone.

The player must then locate four lost Munis, who are found at various points nearby, along with multiple Overgrown. Approach the Munis and use the interact button to revive them. Their specific locations include:

  • On the ground southeast of the building where the Vertibird lands, near the Back Alley Bowling billboard.
  • On the ground in a small plaza to the west, near a row boat.
  • Along the upper rooftops to the south, on top of the Richard's Haberdashery building.
  • Inside the rooftop shack further to the east.

After successfully locating and reviving them, follow the quest marker to an alleyway. Sloane is much more forthcoming and directs the player to the Lombardi Family's old warehouse, just further down the alley. As the front door is guarded by mobsters (the mob believer and denier) and the Atlantic City treaty still holds, violence is not an option.[verification overdue] The player must either talk their way in (Charisma 12+ required), get lucky in an argument about a two-dollar bill (Luck 12+ required), or sneak in through the back door. This will require reading a note attached to the wall near the back door, which tells the player that they must knock four times for the door to unlock.

Once inside, the player can find some terminal logs that suggest the Family cooks Devil's Blood in a hidden lab, but it is sealed. When informing Vin, there is also a Perception 4+ check to overhear his and Sloane's conversation, and comment on his regrets over leaving the Munis. The chem lab is in a building near the community center, but there is no obvious way inside. It is here that Sloane departs, not wanting to encroach any further on the Lombardi Family. Vin will explain that the pipes gave him an idea: Pipes near the chem lab are usually used to pump water out of flooded buildings, but the flow can be reversed to flood out the lab if the valves are turned in the right order: three, two, four, one. The valves are labeled by painted numbers on the pipe junction the valve is attached to (see gallery to the right).

Once the valves are turned, high pressure water blasts open an entrance for the group. Inside, hostile mobsters are engaged in battle with the Overgrown, leading to a three-way fight. Once the gangsters and Overgrown are dealt with, Vin asks to talk to the player and asks for advice, as he is struggling with whether or not he should return to his past life as a Muni once Abbie is cured. After the player gives them advice on the topic, the group enters the building, with the player following Vin into the apartments and eventually the lab.

Enter Gene. Gene is a cook for the Lombardi Family and its most experienced chemist. There are multiple options when talking to her, including a Strength 8+ check, but eventually she reveals that most Devil's Blood produced is a synthetic, less pure compound. The only cure for Devil's Blood addiction is a more organic compound, but she cannot craft the antidote on the spot. The only person knowing how to obtain it is Antonio Russo, the patriarch of the family who is not so senile after all. This completes the quest, setting in motion Sins of the Father, the next and final quest in this quest line.

Bugs[]

PCPC If one uses a weapon that may affect multiple targets, such as the Tesla rifle, while in the flooded city center during this quest, Vin may be caught in the crossfire and will appear as hostile. Although his dot is changed to red on the compass, he will not actually attack the player. However, he will also not be able to be interacted with to start dialogue. Joining a different server and retraveling to the flooded city center fixes this.[verified]
