“With the Hobbler perk, your chance to hit an opponent's legs in V.A.T.S. is significantly increased.”— In-game description
Hobbler is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Dead Money.
Effects[]
Taking this perk grants a 25% bonus to the chance of hitting an enemy's legs when targeted in V.A.T.S., increasing the likelihood the enemy will be crippled and their movement severely reduced.
Notes[]
- As with other similar perks that increase hit chance in V.A.T.S., the accuracy bonus is multiplicative, not additive.
- The perk counteracts the V.A.T.S. accuracy penalty of the Fast Shot trait.
Behind the scenes[]
In the 1990 movie Misery based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, a serial killer hobbles her captive, a novelist she adores by smashing his feet with a sledgehammer. When asked if the perk icon references this, Joshua Sawyer responded that it was not intended as a direct reference, but acknowledged the similarity.[1]
