Highway 89 (or Route 89 or the 89) is an old freeway that runs across Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.

Highway 89 starts in Flagstaff, Arizona and runs north to the Grand Canyon. Once it enters Utah, it passes over the Colorado River and curves west through the Grand Staircase, continuing north near Zion National Park. After passing Zion, it then follows alongside the Virgin River. Then the highway merges with I-70 for a short distance, then branches off to Spanish Fork and Provo Bay. The road subsequently merges with I-15 and crosses through Salt Lake City, Syracuse, and New Canaan.

Edward Sallow, Joshua Graham, and Bill Calhoun used this route to reach the Blackfoot Tribe in Arizona.[1]

Highway 89 is mentioned only in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.

Behind the scenesEdit

Highway 89 is based on the real world highway U.S. Route 89.

  1. The Courier: "Were you always with the New Canaanites?"
Joshua Graham: "I was born in Ogden, what people came to call New Canaan. Things were more peaceful when I was growing up. When I was a young man, I went out into the world to do missionary work as all New Canaanites do. I traveled along the Long 15 and followed 89 south into Arizona. Along the way, I met two men from a group called the Followers of the Apocalypse. Edward Sallow and Bill Calhoun. They came to teach the tribes. Calhoun was a good man. Edward was the one who got us into trouble down the road."
