Headin' Down the Wrong Highway is a song broadcast on Appalachia Radio in Fallout 76. It was recorded for radio in 1944, but was not released publicly until 2000 as part of the compilation album Country and Western.

Background

The recording session was held in late 1944 at the Standard Studios in Hollywood, California.[1] The session personnel included Johnny Bond (vocals, guitar), Jimmy Wakely (guitar), Dick Reinhardt (vocals, bass fiddle), Wesley Tuttle (vocals, guitar), Merle Travis (guitar) and Paul Sells (accordion).[2]

Lyrics

Too many sweethearts and none of them true
Done too many things that I shouldn't do
Made lots of money all spent the wrong way
Headin' down the wrong highway

Made lots of friends and now they're all gone
Too many memories that still linger on
Had too many drinks both night and day
Headin' down the wrong highway

Too many heartaches and too many tears
Crowded too much in just a few years
I want to go ride but I've lost my way
Headin' down the wrong highway
