Hawthorne Medical Laboratories was a pre-War medical research company in Los Angeles, California, a subsidiary of the Vault-Tec Corporation. They appear in some capacity in the Fallout TV series.
Background[]
Prior to the Great War, Vault 4 was built underneath the main research campus of Hawthorne Medical Laboratories in Los Angeles, California. The building was altered such that a hallway just inside from the main entrance would seal shut and drop anyone inside down into the Vault's test subject chambers, luring people to enter the hallway using a fake door labeled as the entrance to a medical storage wing.
The exterior entrance of Vault 4 was built not far from the Hawthorne Medical Laboratories campus, with the two locations in visible distance of each other.
Appearances[]
Hawthorne Medical Laboratories appears in the Fallout TV series episodes "The Past" and "The Radio."
