“If you kill a target in V.A.T.S., 20 Action Points are restored upon exiting V.A.T.S.”— In-game description
Grim Reaper's Sprint is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.
Effects[]
Taking this perk grants a single boost of 20 Action Points when successfully killing a target in V.A.T.S.
Notes[]
- The perk does not affect the regeneration rate of AP, nor the maximum AP amount.
- The AP restoration does not apply per kill, only if a killing blow was achieved through a marked shot/hit in the current V.A.T.S. sequence, i.e. killing multiple enemies in one sequence still only restores 20 AP.
- This perk pairs well with the Action Boy/Action Girl, Math Wrath, and Better Criticals perks as well as the Fast Shot and/or Kamikaze traits.
- The perk still triggers if an essential non-player character is knocked unconscious.
Behind the scenes[]
Grim Reaper's Sprint was originally a fan-created perk and winner of the Fallout 10th anniversary perk contest in 2007, submitted by Marc-Andre Deslongchamps. Bethesda implemented the perk in Fallout 3, describing the idea as "elegant and simple" while affecting game mechanics in a unique way.[1]
