I was expecting a shipment of chemicals. It's usually in a suitcase dropped off in one of the big machines up here.Melissa Lewis

The Great Khan encampment is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Layout

Situated southeast of the makeshift Great Khan camp and west of Quarry Junction, the location is accessed either by going along the north wall of Quarry Junction or through a trail cutting through the mountain ridges that starts near Vault 19 to the north; both ways will involve fighting, or sneaking past several deathclaws.

In the camp itself, there are two makeshift beds that can be used to sleep.

Notes

  • Reaching this location by taking the Interstate 15 north can be extremely difficult, as deathclaws will usually spawn near it, making it almost impossible for low-level characters to make it to the encampment. Going west from the Goodsprings Cemetery will also lead to an encounter with a great number of radscorpions including giant radscorpions.
  • An alternative route to the camp involves climbing up the ridge at the makeshift Great Khan camp and keeping to the wall on the right until a path forks up towards the encampment. Deathclaws may not be as numerous when coming from this direction and can be avoided with the help of a Stealth Boy.
  • Quarry workers in Sloan will mention the camp though this will not unlock its map marker.[1]
  • After completing Oh My Papa, the two Great Khans will leave the camp but Melissa will remain there, even if Don't Make a Beggar of Me is also completed.

Appearances

The Great Khan encampment appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
