Sergeant Granite is the leader of one of the Enclave Control Company's squads in 2241-2242.[1]
Background
Granite is a trooper with sergeant's chevrons on his shoulder.[2] He commands the Enclave Control Company which deals with perimeter defense. He doesn't fully believe in the Enclave's message as he can be convinced to aid the Chosen One.

Quests
- Stop the Enclave: When the Chosen One invades the Oil Rig and blows up the reactor, Granite and his squad are the last obstacle before Frank Horrigan.
Effects of player's actions
- When faced with the dilemma of believing the Chosen One's claim that the Oil Rig is set to explode, Granite can be convinced to aid the Chosen One against Frank Horrigan or provoked into combat. Otherwise, he and his squad stand idle.[3]

Behind the scenes
Granite offhandedly states, "These are not the droids we are looking for." in one of his dialogue lines. This is an approximation of a line said by Imperial Stormtroopers in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.[4] In response to a question about Granite and EC Company's continuity, Chris Avellone postulated, "He [Granite] and the EC crew hopped aboard the tanker, and escaped to the mainland after watching the fireworks from the top of the tanker, whispering "gawd-damn" to themselves and throwing suggestive glances at the women from Vault 13 and Arroyo. After reaching the mainland, they headed north to Navarro and were never heard from again, though their adventures could fill several eras worth of pulp comics."[5]
