Gone Fission is the twenty-third major update for Fallout 76. It was released on June 3, 2025. It was preceded by Ghoul Within.[1][2]
The update includes the fishing gameplay mechanic, as well as the twenty-first season, also named Gone Fission.
Features[]
- Season 21: Gone Fission
- Fishing gameplay mechanic
- Players who fast travel to Scorched Earth no longer spawn in the middle of the blast zone; instead they spawn near Drop Site V9
- Combat, enemies, weapons and mods rebalancing (list here)
- More enemies are no longer immune to crippling
- Perk cards are no longer required for crafting weapons or making workshop traps, due to the annoyance of having to temporarily change loadouts
- Many perk card changes and re-naming:
- Science > Science!
- Science Expert > Pyro-Technician
- Science Master > Cryologist
- Rifleman > Down Ranger
- Rifleman Expert > Scoped-up
- Rifleman Master > Smart Shot
- Commando > Center Masochist
- Commando Expert > Fast Fighter
- Commando Master > Number Cruncher
- Shotgunner > Easy Target
- Shotgunner Expert > Love the Spread
- Shotgun Master > Shotgun Champ
