Gleaming Depths, also known as Raids: The Gleaming Depths,[1] is the upcoming twenty-first major update for Fallout 76. It is set to release in December 2024. It was preceded by Milepost Zero.
The update will include high-level endgame raids with four-star legendary gear as rewards, as well as season 19 and CAMP pets.
Background[]
The update was teased by creative director Jonathan Rush at QuakeCon in August 2024, showing a teaser trailer featuring the ultracite-heavy Gleaming Depths location, as well as fights against an emplaced sentry bot (the EN06 Guardian), mole miners and a new giant boss enemy resembling a cobra (the Ultracite Terror).[2]
In an interview at Gamescom 2024, Rush revealed more information about the update, including the fact that it would be focused on endgame raids, with four-star legendary gear as the rewards.[1][3]
Additionally, in September 2024, CAMP pets were announced to be coming to the game at the end of 2024, presumably with the Gleaming Depths update.[4] The Public Test Server for Gleaming Depths launched on September 27, 2024; pets were tested beginning on September 30, and raids were enabled on October 4.
