Germany officially the Federal Republic of Germany was a country in Europe before the Great War. The affairs of the German region after World War II, such as the east and west partition in our world, are unknown due to the divergence; although the continued existence of the Soviet Union strongly indicates that the German division was still in place. By 2060, as the European Commonwealth dissolved, the country fell into disarray, bickering and quarreling with its neighbors over the last few remaining resources on Earth.

Background

Germany is the country of origin of the renowned PPK12 Gauss pistol, M72 Gauss rifle, MP9 10mm SMG and the Vindicator minigun. Many major technologies were created by Germans such as Hans Geiger and Werner Heisenberg.

Little is known about the country in-game. The presence of Gauss rifles in mainland United States in copious amounts, as well as the employment of a strikingly similar weapon system by the Chinese, implies the Germans had equal opportunity business deals with both sides of the Great War.

Vault-Tec scientist Stanislaus Braun was from Kronach, a town in the state of Bavaria in southeastern Germany.

In Fallout 3, Agatha's Station plays three songs by the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition, music from Gerhard Trede is played on Galaxy News Radio.

In Fallout: New Vegas, music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, Johann Sebastian Bach, Gerhard Trede, and Richard Wagner are featured.

In the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts, the language of the Dead Horses tribe was created with parts of the German language.

In the Fallout 4 add-on Nuka-World, the city of Düsseldorf is mentioned in Wixon's shovel museum.

In Fallout Tactics and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, German car manufacturer Volkswagen is referenced.

In Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2, a vehicle that the developers hoped would have been a 1959 Volkswagen Beetle was to have been located near Vault 39.^[1]
