Future Imperfect is a Fallout 3 quest. On the PC and Xbox 360, for completing this quest you get The G.O.A.T. Whisperer achievement.

Walkthrough

Get your G.O.A.T.

The quest starts after your talk with your Dad; you'll have to go to class and take a test. Before you go, don't forget to grab the medicine bobblehead off his desk. Head through the door, or wait for Jonas to walk through the door. There is a Stimpak you can pick up that can be found on the tray in the middle of the clinic. Head straight out to the Hall. Turn right.

You'll see Amata being bothered by the Tunnel Snakes. Save Amata for good Karma, or help the Tunnel Snakes to get bad Karma, or turn right to avoid the whole thing. There are 4 ways to get good Karma; 1. Threaten that the overseer will come down on the tunnel snakes. 2. Talk to the other members of the Tunnel Snakes beside Butch and they'll leave once they figure out they don't want to be lackeys for him (for the highest amount of Karma). 3. Simply tell Butch off. 4. Duke it out.

You'll see the door on your left. Walk into the room and approach Mr.Brotch. Find a seat and sit down with the action button. Answer all the questions, and when you're done turn in your G.O.A.T. test. You get pre-set tag skills based on your results. But you can change them to whatever you want by speaking to Mr. Brotch after the test. Leave the classroom when you're done.

If you select the right options when you first see Mr. Brotch you can skip the questions and select your skills, after which you can leave the classroom and walk down the hall to complete the quest.

Notes

  • If you do not sit the test but bypass it through dialogue options with Mr. Brotch, you will not get the achievement "The G.O.A.T. Whisperer".
  • If you wait and stand back you can listen to what everyone else got as they approach.
    • Amata is slated to go into a supervisory position, which her father probably had something to do with using his influence.
    • Butch is slated to be a hairdresser. When your return in Trouble on the Homefront, he'll tell you he always wanted to be a barber, which is very different from a hairdresser.
    • Paul Hannon is slated for the Engineering Track. Later he becomes a Security officer for an unknown reason (not sure about that).
    • Christine Kendall is slated to go into Maintenance. She and her mother wanted her to go into Science or Home Economics.
    • Susie Mack is slated to go into teaching due to, according to Brotch, her gift of communication.
    • Wally Mack walks out of the room, without hearing the results of his G.O.A.T. Mr Brotch is heard to remark: "That cheeky so and so, wish I'd thought of that when I was sixteen." He later ends up becoming a security officer.
    • Freddie Gomez is struggling with the test and stays behind to try and figure it out. We don't hear what he will become.
  • If you activate the terminal in the office you start off in, you can read about an experiment that your dad and Jonas have done, foreshadowing Project Purity.

Potential Outcomes: Shift Supervisor, Pediatrist, Tattoo Artist, Vault Loyalty Inspector, Pip-Boy Programmer, Waste Management Specialist, Marriage Counselor, Fry Cook, Chaplain, Laundry Cannon Operator, Foot man, and Clinical Test Subject. (Will provide quotes, details on how to get and tags)
