The frag grenade is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[]
Fragmentation grenades, or frag grenades, are small hand-thrown bombs. They contain a dense core of high explosives encased in a metallic body designed to fragment upon detonation. Wounding effects come from both the explosive blast and the propelled fragments. The metallic case of fragmentation grenades may be pre-formed into a matrix designed to break apart evenly. Fragmentation grenades may either be spherical shaped or attached to a throwing handle (stick grenade) and armed with contact or timed fuses.
Characteristics[]
A hand-thrown explosive capable of dealing great damage. The longer the fire button is held down, the farther the grenade will go. The arc at which the player character throws it will also impact the distance. It is considered an improved holdout weapon.
Variants[]
- Holy Frag Grenade - a unique variant only available with the Wild Wasteland trait, found in the Searchlight church basement at Camp Searchlight.
- Misfits' frag grenade - a unique non-player variant used by the Misfits during Flags of Our Foul-Ups. It only differs from the standard variant by doing very low damage.
