Private Foster was a soldier of the New California Republic Army deployed in Hopeville and the Divide. His skeleton can be found in the Divide in 2281.

Foster's squad consisted of a lieutenant, Jenkins and Henriksen. His squad was killed in a battle, with himself and the lieutenant being the only survivors. He then wrote a journal about his experience in the Divide.[1]
