Not exactly, from the widespread radioactive fallout in Fallout 3 I'm assuming that Dirty Nukes[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_bomb] were used. In that case the radiation would have spread out over New Vegas, so that means radiation would have tainted the weather cycle. P.S. it does snow in parts of Nevada.

Forums: Index > Fallout: New Vegas general discussion > Snow in fallout

Snow in a expanion in fallout 4 would be great, or in a part of the map and I want ot see it in the game. Fallout 3 is made of like 3 states, So fallout 4 cant all be Navada. I would love to see snow and like have a base or a house there, probily a Ranger Cabin like the Mountain rangers have.and a little snow town to hang around. In Elderscrolls 4 i always likes hanging around the Snow town they had north. Fallout has Great Graphics, Great combat, but no minigames and since its in Lasvagas i hope they have a Casino to Gamble there, there by having mini games. Sure Combat is Fun, but that is all there sorta is ya know. Fight against Super mutants is fun, but it would be Cool for them ot run a shop. Snow Is really great to look in point Ancorage expansion, but you cant go there twice. Another thing i Would really want to see. to make game play more fun would being allowed to tranfer as much ammo as you want from fallout 3, with one set of armor and one weapon. Cuase we use these weapons for hrs on fallout 3 so wewant to definly use them in fallout 4, it would cheating if we could tranfers all of them, so it would be fun to just use "ONE" of our favorites. and a little more romance never hurt anyone. i hope they put a little of that in to.Plz support my cause by supporting the idea of Snow, one weapon, armor and inf ammo tranfer. THX

That tranfer idea is just dumb. Most people would probably bring over the Winterized T51-B, Vengeance, and bazillions of EC packs and be a walking tank from the beginning of the game. Where's the fun in that? BoS Paladin Thumbnail Knight Captain Ski (talk) 16:25, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry to say but this is kind of a dumb idea. The transfer is stupid. The snow thing, well, last time I checked it never snows in Nevada. And Fallout wasn't made up of 3 states in the original game. only DC and part of Maryland. Thus considering F3's map is only about 7 miles in game, That could never reach another state from Vegas considering Nevada is a few 100 miles long. Fallout3Maniac 23:31, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout Tactics was in the midwest, including Chicago. It definitely gets cold and snows there. I think if they were to make another Fallout game in a similar setting, it would make sense for it to snow. They should try using Chicago again, it would be really gross (winter in Chicago is the worst thing ever, I live there) and windy and snowy. And then you could freeze to death in hardcore mode! Yay!

Wouldn't snow be radioactive? Rain, snow, hail and other precipatation would be radioactive. When the precipatation hits the surface of the Earth it becomes radiated if it falls in a zone thats radioactive like still pools of water, nuclear bomb craters, nuclear waste disposal sites, etc. When the water evaperates it still carries the radiation and makes other clean water particles radiated. So if it were to snow or rain while you were walking in the wasteland and you couldn't find shelter then you would be hit with rads and soon get radiation poisoning and possibly die if you couldn't find shelter in time. P.S. Fallout 3 took place in the states of Maryland and Virginia. Washington, D.C. isn't a state but a unrepresentitive territory of the United States like Peurto Rico, Guam, and American Samoa. If you were to add the The Pitt add-on and Operation: Anchorage add-on then Fallout 3 was actually played in 4 states and a U.S. territory. Those states are Pennsylvania, Alaska, Virginia, and Maryland. But we can't forget the city of Washington and the District of Columbia. :)- Zachattak471 May 8, 2010 23:32 ET

Thank you for the geography lesson, though I'm not sure what the point was... BoS Paladin Thumbnail Knight Captain Ski (talk) 04:32, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

What the point was?

Did you even read the first sentance? Like "Wouldn't snow be radioactive?". Last time i checked, radiation = bad, very very bad...<--- actually when water evaporates it leaves everything behind taking ONLY the water molecules so no it wouldn't be radioactive.

Yes, I did read the first sentence. He was talking about snow being radioactive, then all of a sudden started rambling on about the different places that F3 took place. He seems to have gotten a little lost as he was typing... BoS Paladin Thumbnail Knight Captain Ski (talk) 04:43, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

just sayin

Snow is a rarity, but it does rain there, at least here in pre-war times. MFToast - talk 16:24, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

It snows on the mountains just outside the city.71.6.117.154 20:09, September 24, 2010 (UTC)Ryno

They should have a game set in Indiana. i think it would be interesting to see the radioactive dust storms
