Railway Rifle - Does It Pay Off?

I was thinking that through all the effort of getting a schematic, finding the parts, and combining them at a workbench, does this gun really pay off? It has low damage and the ammo is somewhat rare as well... BOSPalidan 's ROFLCopter goes soi soi soi soi soi 08:31, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Well, you can use guns strictly for fun and not necessarily just 'cause they're the most powerful ones out there. --TheBearPaw 11:33, July 4, 2010 (UTC)
My understanding is that weapons like the RR aren't really cost effective and should only be used if YOU think it's worth your time. I personally spend a lot of time crippling the limbs of my enemies, so a weapon like this would definitely be worth my time. Nymphonomicon 16:24, July 4, 2010 (UTC)
Basically, yea. The only thing notable about this weapon is that it's a semi-auto rifle, but it has a fairly slow rate of fire and the damage is subpar, so if you want to judge it based on effectiveness it'll always fall short. Deadlykris 01:27, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
Its more for fun. Think about it, you can pin arms, legs and heads to walls floors and doors. Its just a bit of a laugh fo people with a violent sence of humor. Like the M.I.R.V, its not pratical, nothing needs 8 mini nukes at once, but you still want it. Just to see Sickeys body spining off into the distance. JASPER42 10:50, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
That's kinda my (unstated) point; it's a fun weapon, just not the best one. Deadlykris 18:15, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

The best use I've heard for it is as a nail gun for installing sconces (wall torches.) I'll explain: first, pick a wall or any other solid surface. Then, lure a creature/NPC in front of it. You'll probably want to save here. Get them near death, and then set them on fire. Before the flames or the :ahem: donor dies, nail the desired sconce style (body part) with the nail gun so that it is fastened securely to the surface in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Your new sconce should stay lit permanently. I used this method to replace the "deathclaw skull" in the Museum of Dave (really a brahmin skull) with a flaming deathclaw head. Takes a lot of reloads and patience to get good results. Happy decorating! Chung Shui 07:38, July 17, 2010 (UTC)
