I don't have a high enough science skill to hack the mainframe. Actually, I noticed the optional quest didn't even show up when Moira gave me the quest, when it always showed up immediately for the previous ones. Is this directly linked to my science skill? If I bump it up with Mentats once I get there will I be able to fulfill it even though it didn't show up when she gave me the quest? Is there another way to fulfill it? There's definitely an issue where Moria sometimes won't mention the optional part of a quest. It doesn't affect your ability to complete the optional portion though. (see: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Wasteland_Survival_Guide#Notes).
I actually had the exact same scenario happen to me on the RobCo quest just last night, and I can confirm I was definitely able to complete the optional requirement and earn my "Survivor Guru" Perk.
As for raising your Science skill don't forget that Lesko's Lab Coat gives you +10 to your Science skill while worn (and there are several +5 options if you forgot to get Lesko's). -- JazzX Talk 02:31, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

- The Bobblehead (+10)
- Lesko's Lab Coat (+10)
- The remaining five has to be raised by other means (Like Mentats, skill books, or Lincoln's Hat=
