I've read some posts railing agianst the thought of a Fallout MMO but I'm sure it's something we're going to see in the near future. It doesn't even need Vats or Pipboy gameplay. Just the idea of a huge, persistent, ever expanding post apocalyptic Fallout style gameworld would be awesome.

It wouldn't be like the frantic Halo3 gameplay with little kids mouthing off. Fallout 3, like Oblivion, is mostly about exploration and immersive RPG gameplay. I've never liked RPG games before but F3 got me hooked. I've put in hundreds of hours and bought all the DLC. For a developer this would be a goldmine. I think that's why Bethesda is suing for the MMO rights.

Gameplay could be just PVE and you could join up with other live players to form guilds or whatever. There could be social hubs like they will have in Huxley where you can buy gear or trade, organize quests whatever - Hell I don't know anything about MMO's but if they even made it like World of Warcraft with a Fallout skin I would be a subscriber and I'm sure so would a lot of people.

I don't know how anyone can complain about a Fallout Online game.

I also don't know how to post on wiki - hope this works —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.85.47.236 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

I think it would work if it was an ever evolving game, such as each server begins as just the wasteland with ruined cities and emptiness, and over time players would build settlements and create trade caravans and such. Would really add to the idea of humanity helping each other to rebuild. And then there would be the people intent on destroying all that has been made, just like the raiders in the real games. Each server would be unique, and it would probably end up like a post-nuclear second life.

But the current tech has a while to go before we can get anything like this. 93.152.100.232 12:28, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

Would be cool but not good to mention it here. People have a hard on for the correctness of lore of a subjectively storylined sand box like RPG. Hardcore nostalgafags will whine about "their" cannon for a game that for each and every player can have different outcomes i know there is an established "official" storyline but it kinda invalidates a few peoples playthroughs. Then again this is a wikki it's supposed to be like that.

Also some people have a natural aversion to MMO's Avid single players moslty. because god forbid that they actualy have to deal with people and gasp what if they where less then reputable chaps! ohh no that would be bad jujuu you'd have to takea trip to the hugbox and put on your thumb sucking thimble. BUMP!

<sarcasm>Yeah, I just can't understand people who wouldn't appreciate playing in a world where everyone was bunny-hopping around and shouting "PWNED joo n00b lol" I mean, that would just add to the immersion, right?</sarcasm> Ishotamaninnewreno 04:34, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

Don't forget, collecting all those brahmin hides so you can buy the +1 Shotgun of Lesser Supermutant Bane... Wait, huh? Nuka Kulcha 03:06, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

hay u know i like the idea of a fallout MMO. I dont think it would be anything like what (person im not alowed to talk to or he will get upset and try to get me blocked... agien) said, i mean its not like its going to be like halo online were people just run around and shoot eachother. it would be fun to be able to explore the whole fallout world with people, not just npcs. It would not be the most immersive thing in the world becouse there will always be people that just run around trying mess up peoples days, but even with that i think it would be fun.MrDot01 06:15, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

You got yourself blocked, Dot. Nothing to do with me. Ishotamaninnewreno 09:08, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

note: 1. i said tryed to get me blocked you did not get me blocked you were just the one that went conplaining about me 2. dont talk to me becouse i was told not to talk to you becouse i quote "try to avoid people that will try to fight with you" 3 your coment had nothing to do with the topic so pleas just stick to what the topic is if you got to say something to me do it on my talk page pleas and think you. Its Mr.Dot01 to you mister MrDot01 17:10, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

This'd be fun and possible for PC but I don't know how it'd play out for console games. More people add to the challenge.

Maybe Next-Gen consoles could do it.

It doesn't have to play like WoW. Example: Star Wars: The Old Republic will be a story driven MMORPG. You can chill out in the galaxy and challenge/team up other players but if you do a mission, you will be advancing the story to reach the end game. Besides, What's the difference between Fallout Online and Fallout Multiplayer? You're still gonna get that random asshole who calls "n00b I PWNED yoo!" though in Multiplayer, you will be hit with racial slurs. Where as in an online MMO they censor that and you have Mods to ban the real problems. Multiplayer doesn't have that feature (unless it's Left 4 Dead)so I'm for a Fallout MMO. And if you don't like it, then don't buy it. Just don't come crying to the forum when Fallout 5's release date gets pushed back and you finshed Fallout 4 and it's DLC. We'll all be busy playing Fallout Online's latest expansion. MoonshadowDark

As long as they don't make it like Fallen Earth. They failed with their "FPS" combat system and the layout/pathfinding and constant gathering makes it very boring and dull. You just don't feel any action you can play that game while half asleep. Bit too much turn/cooldown based instead of just blazing around with guns that feel real. I hope they won't make FO:O like that and it could turn out great as long as they don't make every player a hero wanderer or something. Just another member of certain factions that can work together. --PvtNiss 04:16, January 5, 2011 (UTC) im gonna horde all of my nuka cola until I reach five thousand then im gonna start a trade caravan of nothing but nuka cola then use the money to rebuild the corporation and hire scavegers to find more varieties of nuka cola and anyone opposing will feel the cold tingly wrath of THE PROBEEEEEEEEEEEE Fryingpan57 04:38, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

I think people are mixing up 2 different games. If u are talking about a MMO like WOW, then i agree, it would be terrible. However, if u are allowing online multiplayer help, say, a special co op mission, or missions, where 2 people could team up, that would be cool. Or even have us fight against each other, that'd be fun too. I think they'd have to expand it so that you wouldn't have the same boring character, perhaps u could use the companions in such a world to add some flavor. To play as a boone specialist or veronica, that would be neat.
