Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone else shared a certain problem I've been having and if maybe there was a fix for it. I am running F3 GOTY 1.7 and sometimes sections of the map that I've explored and have the correct appearance in the Local Map section of the Pip-Boy just disappear and fade to black as if they were unexplored. This commonly happens in small squares maybe 10x10 feet. For example, a square of that size is blanked out over each entrance to Fort Bannister every time I explore that place. It explores correctly at first and it's only later, when I'm leaving or re-visiting and area, that it becomes apparent that something's missing. Another extremely common place for this to happen is Megaton: I fully explore the city and have all the markers in place on the Local Map, go see Moira, step outside, and the central third of the map is blanked out. It is always a predictable pattern that fades, depending on location, and in the case of Megaton it is not square but a rounded blob.

The problem is probably related to different height inside the map because it always happens when going from an higher/lower to lower/higher part. I tried to change any graphic setting but it doesn't solve the problem. I noted that I also have installed Fallout NV Ultimate Edition and the local map just works well. It's a frustrating bug and I simply cannot find the fix in internet!
For any comparison, I run a Core 2 Quad Q8200 processor with an NVidia GeForce 9500GT graphic card under Windows 7 Ultimate edition.
I just experienced this issue as well. I fast traveled to Megaton from Those! quest area, with 77 locations discovered. Upon entering Moira's shop and leaving, all my world map locations disappeared. I have not been able to find a fix. --ThePesmergia (talk) 10:23, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
