Hey everybody, I am pretty sure most of the active ones would know me, and now, I am going to throw my hat in the ring for discussions moderator. I joined more than 2 years ago and have enjoyed my time here.

I hope to help the community become a friendlier and more welcoming environment. Since I am in a diff time zone than most, i am able to cover the period of times where most moderators are inactive, and also be that someone who can connect with the community. And as seeing that there has been a shortage of active moderators, I hope you would consider my request. Overseer X (talk) 23:21, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

Endorsement

Overseer is one of the more positive contributors on discussions. He regularly reports posts that violate the policies and conducts himself in a manner appropriate with others, helping keep things in line with policy without minimodding himself. I feel confident he will be able to handle the responsibilities of Discussions Moderator just fine and, as we are a little light in moderator coverage at the moment, the help will be much appreciated. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 23:30, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

  8. Yes From what I've seen it's fairly apparent we need more moderation on /d. You seem pretty active and I think you'll be able to handle yourself. Hopefully you'll also be interested in listening to the advice of more experienced moderators. The different timezone is also a plus as our current team of moderators are mostly (if not all) in the same timezone. Discord presence is a plus and I hope you'll be there more often going forward but, as Agent c said, your discord presence is irrelevant to this vote.   9. Yes I remember almost every /d user and most of all I remember users I spoke with during interesting threads; Overseer was one of them. I like the guy, he seems responsible and why the hell we should not give him a chance. With fallout 76 releasing in November you'll be able to see if he's skilled for the job or not with so many users flowing to the /d wall during that period. Good luck with the vote, pal. No

  1. No personally, the issues with his last vote again appear here for me as well. I rarely even see him on discussions and haven't for a long time. Maybe he just lurks in the shadows reporting (which seems to be the case) but he still doesn't pop on enough to justify giving him the dmod toolset in my opinion. An endorsement from gunny is saying alot, but my opinions stay this way.   2. No Nothing against X, nor Gunny, but I haven’t seen consistent activity from X on the discussions board in ages. Maybe he just lurks and reports, which is fine. But I’d rather that he be a participating member of the board. Additionally, I’ve seen the way he moderates Discord servers and I don’t necessarily like his style. Not to mention none of his “yes” votes are from active members of discussions. And “different time zone” isn’t a good reason to run in my opinion. No The jarring caveat that is debilitating me voting yes is the following: I haven't seen Overseer X active, neither on the /d or Discord - a fundamental element that, for me, is mandatory for an effective Discussion Moderator. Despite how I perceive the candidate as an cordial and affable user in the community, I believe the position would be suitable for a different user, one that is industrious and devoted. Moreover, I haven't witnessed the moderating abilities of the candidate, thus me voting yes would have been a judgement of unequivocal certitude - and I, candidly, don't know the candidate enough to warrant that. --Ulysses the G (talk) 12:54, August 16, 2018 (UTC)
