Greetings my fellow users, I, DragonBorn96 come to you this evening in order to request the privilege and position of being a chat moderator.

Why should I become a chat mod?

I finally joined this place back in August of 2011, before I was just a lurker. Then I saw the chat and that there were quite a few people in and thought "I'm going to join." Right from the start, I'd have the RWA open, watching it for vandals, reverting the edits, and learning the policies, both chat and main wiki. And now, I'd say I know the policies pretty well, more so the chat rules, and since I'm applying for the ability to moderate the chat, it's a requirement that I know the rules I'll be there to enforce.

Over my time on the chat, I've got to know people. I've got to forge friendships, earn the trust of people and become a solid character in chat, and all the while developing myself as an member of the entire wiki, watching out for vandals and those who break the rules, both in and out of chat. In chat situations, mods aren't always around, so I take it upon myself to make those who come into chat aware of the rules if they start to act up, and if they persist, give them a warning, and then screencap them and report them to a mod or an admin that's online by checking who's editing on the feed.

A lot of these times, it'll end in debates with the person. I've developed my skills as a debater during my times here, and now, I can remain calm during the debates, make sure I can see both sides of the argument, being patient and explaining things if needs be and I'm able to divorce my personal opinions and remain impartial in debate situations. These skills are crucial in a role such as a moderator, as debates between users rise, and I need to know to diffuse such a situation, as it can lead to disruption of the chat, or bad feelings between people, and no one wants that. Everyone should be able to enjoy their times in chat.

I shall list my available hours in a separate section. With the laptop I received for my birthday, my hours can be greatly extended as it means I can overcome previous limitations to how long I could be on for.

There should have been a list of this user's edit counts here, but the edit counts feature is no longer available.

A very good reason why I voted no is about your personality, your real personality.

  • You constantly talk down some people (including me) who you do not consider as a "close friend".
  • You never admitted who you really are. You had a negative side that you did not reveal and never cared to solve it.
  • You cling to influential members of the wiki and their trends just to look popular.
  • You end up arguments with a specific person without giving him the chance to speak up, and you response in a sarcastic manner.
  • You give idiotic reasons why you dislike some people when they ask you why you dislike them. Some of those people didn't do such a bad act or say a word against you.

These are the good reasons why you should not be a chat moderator. These attitudes. That's what I have seen in you. The things listed above is NOT a chat moderator's attitude. Unless you start to change the bad attitude, you can't be a chat moderator. For me anyway. Vault boy joker by forarkan-d33uxps (1) "Game's rigged from the start."

I may not be on much around Fraze's time slot, but when i'm there Fraze sometimes is rude to new users. Which I think should not be the attitude of a person who wants to be a chat mod. Sure he maybe respectful to users who he calls his friends but you should have the same amount of respect to every user, not just your friends. There is sometimes where he may talk down to a person, but it's not that often, but he still does and that is unacceptable when someone is a chat mod. So yes, I see where Gauzz is coming from and I agree with his points. ToCxHawK 03:42, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
I have recently learned about your actions on the Enclave wiki. I'm sorry, but I can't trust a user to be in any sort of power-position here after they so viciously ripped another wiki apart. It doesn't matter how bad another wiki is, nothing gives you the right to do what you did there. (And many other users here as well, I might add.)
  • You removed the rights of anyone who was an Admin an under.
  • You proceeded to ban every current user who was there.
  • You brought friends over (Most from here) and gave them b'crat rights.
  • They then proceeded to destroy the wiki with you just sitting back and doing nothing about it.

I'm really sorry DB... I haven't seen much bad about you during our few encounters. But this has vastly shaken my faith in you being anything more than a regular user. Dragon Skål! 03:47, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Leon, just to combat what you have been saying about the Enclave Wiki, Fraze did NOT destroy it, he tried to save it. The other people in power on that particular wiki were some of the most horrible individuals ever, I witnessed it myself. I am not defending Fraze because I am his friend, I am defending him because it is the truth. You know very little of what occured over at the Enclave. Fraze would constantly be insulted and other users from our wiki were also (the point I remember most was them talking about Catman and saying some horrible stuff) and there were few people there who actually cared about the wiki. Those people were kept, due to their dedication. Those people who had absolutely no excuse for their behaviour were removed. Simple as. As for the making friends b-crats, utter bull. User talk:Miss"Even In Death May You Be Triumphant" 09:33, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

How so did he saved it? Did he save it when someone adopted it and vandalized all the articles? Of course he did not. He just moved on to his plans and agendas. And you are trying to defend him against the reasons for the no votes. The reasons for the "no" votes are all true. I have no personal vendetta, I have nothing against him. Just the truth.
Revealing the truth earlier hurts a bit. Keeping it until you step on a sticky situation hurts the most. And about the aformentioned statement that "Fraze would constantly be insulted and other users from our wiki" is complete nonsense. All nonsense. As for the record, he is sometimes known to be rough on people who he considers as "not his friend", and act like he's the victim when he talks to you and to Scar and some other people who he considers as a close friend. I thought I'd give my input on the Enclave Wiki scenario. It all started way back, when some troublesome individuals got banned from chat, people like Roxashasnoheart and Enclave Overlord, amongst others. They then proceeded to create a new wiki, designed around their favourite faction in the Fallout universe (which happened to be the Enclave, surprise), and to slander the Vault and its users, foremost amongst them Cartman and I.
Frazier, though, decided to actually help them make the wiki an actually functioning one, as the Enclave Wiki was nothing more than the two leaders squabbling and oppressing users who wouldn't follow them to a T. The two leaders - who were constantly slandering us, I might add - had a rank system in place that was arbitrarily imposed on whomever happened to cross the wiki. They were the commanders, and everyone new were privates, who were to be nothing short of verbally raped and happened up on the pointy end of the Enclave Wiki's power-abuse stick. A lot of our users tried to debate and argue reasonably with EO and Roxas, but to no avail.
Fraze decided to help shape the wiki up, as most articles were either horribly written, or copied illegally from the Vault. He started making sure to attribute all information correctly, fix all syntax and composition errors, and so on; making the wiki an organised one. He progressed and made his way up the ranks, taking a shitload of verbal abuse all the way. He basically carried the wiki, and I gave him some pointers on the way, as I had experience with working on the Vault. He eventually rose all the way to bureaucrat, but as he did things had gotten out of hand. The other bureaucrats, the so-called "commanders" had decided that they wanted him gone, and started banning him, leaving incredibly insulting messages aimed at both Frazier and users at the Vault, banning users who were friends with Frazier, etc. Clear signs of outrageous power abuse. As the situation reached its climax, Frazier decided that it wasn't worth fighting for, and as such left the Wiki. It collapsed on itself after that; like a house of cards.
That is how I remember the situation. Also, Gauzz, could you skip the vendetta? You even told me before Frazier put this vote up that you would vote no, because he wouldn't like you, or some-such. I'm with Nicolle on that.

  • Here is a list of the current b'crats: Local list users. This shows that the only current leadership are indeed DB's friends. If you look through the b'crats contributions, it clearly shows the damage they have caused to the wiki. Here's even a direct quote from Falcon: "I got to admin cause I GOT FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES :D" Which you can find here.
  • Jasper - [1][2]
  • NeekPatterson - [3][4][5]
  • Falcoln - [6][7][8]
  • And let's get to DragonBorn himself - Here is quote where he even admits he was unwilling and unwanting to stop the trolling and vandalizing: "Actually, I never intended this to happen. I had prior engagements and I gave the rights to the users to mind the place. It was not my intention that they would do this and knowing I could not change it really, I sat back and let it happen. Deal with it, basically." The wiki is still trolled beyond belief with many user's talk-pages/profiles vandalized. He has made no attempts to remove the people who trolled the wiki, and it's quite obvious he was just glad to watch the place burn. If you want further proof, go to the wiki yourself and dig through everyone's contributions. You'll see my examples are very minor ones, and a story will quickly unfold. Dragon Skål! 14:56, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
I sat back and let it happen, yes. But still, I go on there still, just to have a look around and occasionally, when I come across and older page, I'll think "Was it the right thing to do?". But then I see how Roxas and co. acted not only there, but everywhere.
And as much as I'd like to minimise the drama as it's not something we need right now. I can't sit back and not clarify things. I respect that everyone can have their vote, it is silly for me to sit back and think that I'd get unanimous support, but you said in your original vote Leon that you didn't know me well. At any time, you could've come into chat and enquired about the Enclave wiki, instead of getting a old image of the way I treated it. Considering it was close to 4 months ago that it fell, I've moved on, Roxas and co has moved on, hell I talk to him over Facebook from time to time, he doesn't mention it, he's gone onto other things, the fact that the Enclave wiki has been brought up seems silly to me, as I'm not the same person I was 4 months ago, as short of a timespan as it is. If everyone else has moved on, forgotten about it. Why is it being brought up with claims that I have "agendas", and may be "up to something bad". Just...why? Why on Earth would I want to do anything bad to this place. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
As for Gauzz and his instance of my true colour showing. Funny how he has yet to bring up an instance of this, and his "facts" are being warped by personal opinions and as Al stated a "personal vendetta" that stems from the fact that I don't like him. As stated by Limmie, Gauzz spreads rumours an awful lot. And since he won't reveal this instance, I'll state what I think it is.
A while ago in the chat, we were going along as we usually do. Eventually, he asked me what I thought of him, so I decided to be honest, and tell him that I didn't like him. Nothing wrong with that. But he pressed it, argued it, and said to me that I was not allowed to not like him, I wasn't allowed to have a bad opinion of him, and how he couldn't understand how someone could not like him. So, I stated why I didn't like him. Again, he stated that I was not allowed to have these opinions. He then exiled himself, and odd move if I must say but who am I claim to understand the motivations of others. After I left that evening, he rejoined, and slandered me. As I've been informed, while I wasn't there, he would come into chat and slander me, and only recently, came in, and expressed his intention in voting no, among other things relating to this vote and me in general.
All in all, if you want to vote no, then you do it. I suppose that I'm a little dissapointed that some are basing their votes on limited interaction and of previous attitudes, and then using it against me when I no longer hold these opinions/attitudes or "agendas".
And a request, you'll allow it. If any of you have further qualms, I am in chat pretty much all the time, it seems better than clogging up the RWA with it. --DragonBorn96 15:39, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
I'll still be looking into matters. As I said in my previous vote, you always seemed nice and welcoming. If it weren't for this issue at the Enclave Wiki, my vote would still be a yes. But you have to understand that this is very concerning for me, and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Hope you take no offense, I'm just looking out for this wiki. I doubt you'd ever cause any direct harm to this wiki, but at the same time I don't know that 100%. So for now... my vote has to be a no. Honestly. Fraze, who handled these accusations against him with surprising maturity, is looking a lot better than many of you at the moment. Why is it that we are no longer able to have even a moderator request without a Broadway spectacle? It no longer became an issue between Gauzz in Dragonborn, now it's everyone's duty to throw around at each other. Drama is not simply a heavily lined argument between two people, it's when everyone gets involved on it. My friends, I love you all dearly, but sometimes I am just beside myself.--Bunny2Bubble 22:15, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

I'm going to agree here. DB handling this situation well definitely shows good qualities for someone to be in a chat mod position. He has stayed calm amidst some of these ridiculous, petty arguments that often make no sense or are irrelevant to his request. People are trying to undermine each other, and DB is responding with well constructed statements. Don't look so deep into other people's comments, make your own decision. Be independent. Take a look at facts, not interpreted statements. Make your own observations. --Skire (talk) 22:20, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
Speaking of spreading rumours, it's false. He really did have a bad attitude. Proof? The private message Yessie and Fraze have after Yessie's blog about his conclusions. Another proof of his bad attitude is shown in the comments stated by Yessie. As for that "vendetta", it has never been vendetta. I just wanted everyone to see for the truth, yet only a few believed me. Well, if it was revenge, I will just vote "no" without a particular reason. It doesn't mean that if you vote no, you hate that person. And yes, I did vandalize several wikis at my entertainment, but then I have stopped. Do I still hold a grudge of people will not vote for me because I will run for chat moderatorship? Before, yes. But then, no. I have only wished myself for patroller rights. Yes, but I did said in chat that I will run for chat moderatorship. But then I have changed my mind and I have decided to run for patroller rights instead.
Honestly, we shouldn't need to argue or to swear. We all need to be calm and civilized. Just because your very close friend Fraze runs, it doesn't mean that you should defend him until your very last breath. Whatever things he did in the past, let yourself know about it. Don't defend him not unless you know what have happened in that past. And Fraze, I tell you this: Revealing the truth hurts earlier hurts a bit.
