somewhere west of the WKML broadcast station on the top of a rocky hill i found 4 giant soldier ants(regular, not fireants) after killing them i found a hole in the ground similar to the size of a sewer manhole which led into a giant ant nest.
the only things inside were 6 or 7 giant ants, some ant nest eggs containing ant meat and two dead wastlanders.
i was just wondering if anyone else had stumbled across this???

Hmm, I think there are quite a few of them actually. Last I recall, I found one in the Northwestern part of the map. The name escapes me but after killing a few giant ants, I entered the ant hole which was full of non hostile giant ant workers. Although, there were some hostile 'Invader Ants' and a few nest where i could inject stimpaks to inhance their growth or something like that I didn't really find anything else aside from some minor loot.
No idea what it'll make of it though.

Yeah those are the shalebridge tunnels. There are two tunnels and one is southwest of the other. If you check the southwest one you should find a ant researcher who respawns with a skill book (Science). If you take advantage of this you might get stuck in the tunnels, so save. Also there is an area named bethesda northwest of megaton. A Raider in the Bethesda East office building respawns with a big guns book. there is no need to save. sorry to hear that you are a dick but i havnt found ANYthing on this site about it and was curious to know if it held any relevance.
just clarifying, it is southeast of mason dixon salvage- 4 ants outside, 6 inside with a few lootable corpses.
