The fonts in the Fallout series are used both in and out of the game for tone consistency, visual branding, and promotional imagery.

User Interface

User interface fonts are packaged with the game and are used to display text for the player to read.

Gothic 821 Condensed Font Gothic 821.png A thick, upper and lower-case font. Based on Berthold Block first made in 1908, Gothic 821 Condensed is a derivative font created in 1993. In Fallout and Fallout 2, it is used as the title font for the intro sequences as well as the UI, such as for the tab font, skilldex menu, and the Tell me about feature in Fallout.

JH Fallout Font JH Fallout.png A thin, upper and lower-case futuristic font. Made for Fallout in 1997. Used for all monochrome text.

Futura Font Futura.png A geometric and thin, upper and lower-case sans-serif font first created in 1927. Futura is used in multiple areas: the inventory 'DONE' button, 'TOWN WORLD' button, and the Poseidon Gasoline map logo.

Gill Sans Extra Condensed Bold Font Gill Sans MT Bold Extra Condensed.png A humanist sans-serif font apart of the Gill Sans family introduced in 1926, Extra Condensed Bold was later created in 1937. Used for displaying the perk names in the character selection menu.
