The C.A.M.P. (Construction & Assembly Mobile Platform) is an advanced campsite creation device issued to the Dwellers of Vault 76 in Fallout 76.
Background[]
A mobile device created by the Vault-Tec Corporation, to facilitate construction of habitable locations.[1][2] It's use was restricted to those who had successfully completed Vault-Tec Course Plan No. 243 - "Serving Survivors".[2] While many were employed by the former inhabitants of Vault 76, they were also traded and utilized by wastelanders returning to Appalachia, with Mordecai McCoy creating "Edu-tapes" about the items, titled 01: Placing Your C.A.M.P., 02: Building At Your C.A.M.P., and 03: Powering Your C.A.M.P.[3]
Characteristics[]
C.A.M.P.s are portable player homes that can be deployed nearly anywhere in Appalachia. A label on the side of the chassis reads "C.A.M.P." with "Construction & Assembly Mobile Platform" underneath. The model number is "Vault-Tec Mo. No. 76SE." A notice is written at the bottom, stating: "WARNING: Do not use before passing Vault-Tec 'Serving Survivors' (Course Plan No. 243)."
They can be placed or moved by opening the inventory menu and pressing the indicated C.A.M.P. button. If the C.A.M.P. placement is invalid, the device will be outlined in red. Otherwise, the C.A.M.P. will be outlined in green, indicating valid placement. C.A.M.P.s may not be placed in interior areas or near marked locations. C.A.M.P.s are also restricted from being placed at certain zones utilized by quests. For example, the immediate area around Vault 76 and the Whitespring Golf Club are restricted areas. C.A.M.P.s are not allowed to be placed in proximity to another player's, or a Survival tent.
Locations[]
- The C.A.M.P. is acquired by the player in Vault 76, on their way out into Appalachia during Reclamation Day.
- There is a pile of C.A.M.P.s behind the stand, but none of these can be taken.
- Overseer's camp - the Overseer has left her C.A.M.P. behind for the Vault Dwellers to use.
- C.A.M.P.s placed by other players on the same server will always have a C.A.M.P.
Notes[]
Although the cardboard display in Vault 76 specifies "find flat ground," it is not an actual requirement for setting up a C.A.M.P.
