Farli is a reference to Stonekeep, a 1995 dungeon crawler also made by Interplay. Farli is the first dwarf encountered by Drake, hero of the game and a party member. His exchange with another dwarf in their tongue is quoted word for word by the Fallout Farli:
“Katja chu nee ka Chak'ra Farli.
Farli, nee ko {PLAYERNAME} mat'chak o Drake.”
