The Stub Removal project aims to start to go through the long list of stubs we have on the wiki. I'd like to have stubs removed when all sections are filled and the pages feel complete.

Scope[]

Stubbed pages, from all games, can be found in the subcategories listed in Category:Stub.

Guidelines[]

Before we start to go through the pages I'd like to see who is interested in helping with this project. This will help us to talk about this project before we start and then bring in a plan from this. But currently the main basis of this project will be to:

  • Fill out sections which are missing, finish infoboxes and make sure the article is detailed enough.
  • Check the various article layout guideline pages so see what is required content.
  • After we feel this point has been reached I think it will be okay to remove the stub marker.

Progress[]

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas have been condensed and the focus turn towards the older titles now I think. Kiwi 3992205 00:19, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

I have finished the Fallout 3 and New Vegas stubs. I will continue work on the real world stubs. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:24, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

  • Fallout: Extreme stubs are now finished and over with, for now. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:20, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
  • Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2 stubs are now finished. Unfortunately, there is quite a lot of information still missing, as we only had access to a few leaked and non-confirmed design documents to write in the few articles we even have. I doubt this will ever change, though, so I have gone ahead and removed all of the stub tags. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:59, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

I've looked through nearly every single article in the stub category now. I've removed tons of stubs where the article's pretty satisfactory, or there's no possible information (e.g. Project V13). I've left some stubs on some pages though, since I don't have any of the original PC games. The only games with tons of stubs left are Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel (as if anyone cares), and for Van Buren, I've removed the Characteristics section on some of the articles since there's hardly anything available to warrant a characteristics section. Additionally, I'd suggest removing the stubs on most of the "Real world" articles, since most of them are minor developers in the credits, who have hardly any information. User Broccoli  OfficialLolGuy  Talk  Blog  22:14, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

Alright... VB stubs and Fallout 3 stubs are now finished, and I am currently working on getting the few remaining Fallout 2 stubs finalized. I'll get those out of the way, move onto Fallout 1 as soon as possible, and then I'll get back to work on getting the real world stubs number reduced a bit. Comments[]

This is one of the major projects that I feel needs to be finished before the next Fallout title is even first mentioned by Bethesda. I would greatly appreciate any help, and I will soon begin finishing up on the real world stubs, and the stubs regarding the Fallout: Tactics and Fallout: Extreme article pages. Updates[]

Since my absence, it looks like stubs have come back in a big way, and some serious work needs to be put back into cleaning these articles up and fleshing them out as best as we can. Thankfully it seems that prior work by the project leads are still in effect, and games from Fallout: New Vegas back to Fallout 1 are almost entirely taken care of, but Fallout 4 and onward need a lot of work.

I want to take charge on this project again, and my first priority will be over the wanting Fallout 4 articles. If I can find the time, I'd also like to start looking into cleaning up our Shelter articles, as they're in... bad shape. My blind spot in particular will be over Fallout 76, as I have only been able to put minimal time into that game, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Is anyone willing to become a project lead and help me with 76 content?

Any volunteers would be greatly appreciate, and I will have medals made for anyone that helps get each of the games caught up. I will also see about retroactively awarding medals to those that participated in catching the older games back up, as I don't think we ever got around to doing so in the past. Thank you for reading. 寧靜 Fox 10:00, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
