The Fallout Series Dialogue Trees Project is a project which aims to create Dialogue 'Trees' for the Fallout Series. Basically, these pages will list the conversations that the PC(s) have with NPCs in the Fallout series, listing the choosable dialogue options and what their effect is.

Scope

Improvement of Fallout, Fallout 2 and Van Buren Dialogue files.

Guidelines

The options should list the speaker at the beginning, Karma effect, the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. requirement, whether your character has high or low Intelligence, etc.

Also, fixing the links is a neccesity (example: [[Supermutant]] to [[Super mutant|Supermutant]]).

Bear in mind that only links can be changed - no actual text should be changed.

For better clarification of who says what, it has been disucssed that this is the previous layout:

{101}{}{Looks like rain . . . as always.}

... and this the best layout:

{101}{Adytowner_001}{Looks like rain . . . as always.}

If there is a reply by the player character, place Vault_Dweller/Chosen_One (depends on the game file, whether Fallout 1/2) and the number same as the character's saying. In the example above, it should be {Vault_Dweller_001}. If there are multiple replies (choices that the player character can say), then place letter a, b, c etc. in alphabetical order. Example: {Vault_Dweller_001a}.

However, examinations ({100}{}{You see an inhabitant of Adytown.}) do not have the person and the number of saying as shown in 2nd example, as it is not a dialogue.

When the player character has a certain reputation or has finished a quest, people's dialogue changes - so add a * and a notification under the transcript and describe what needs to be done in order that dialogue changes. If there are several changes (like if the Chosen One speaks to people in New Reno being a Porn Star/Prizefighter), add additional * and make further notifications. The example can be found here.
