In either case, users may rejoin and/or reverify at any time.

User conduct
The conduct rules below detail expectations for all interactions, are not exhaustive, and are in addition to both Discord Guidelines and Terms of Service. Moderation of the server is the responsibility of active staff members. All moderative actions and their duration are subject to administrator discretion.
Rules
Discussions must be kept within their dedicated channels. Abide by the decisions of staff members, including those indicating a conversation should relocate or end for any reason. | ||
Deleting or editing posts is allowed, but disruptive or misrepresentative alteration or removal of information is prohibited. | ||
Using alt accounts to bypass Discord bans from/or Fallout Wiki blocks is considered ban evasion and is not allowed. | ||
Do not reveal personally identifiable information about users, link to other users' social media accounts, or violate requests for confidentiality. Any form of harassment such as blackmailing, threats, facilitation of doxxing, inappropriate direct messages to other server members will result in an immediate and permanent ban. | ||
Don't be a dick. Be civil and courteous to other users on the server. Do not engage in personal attacks, hate speech, harassment, threats, or sexually suggestive or degrading language. | ||
Content that is NSFW is not allowed under any circumstances, in both text and images. Inappropriate profile pictures, usernames, and statuses are prohibited. | ||
Automod filters are in effect, resulting in warnings if triggered. Examples of parameters include banned words, excessive capital letters, spam, repetitive linking, and mass mentions. Repetitive warnings may result in a mute, kick, or ban depending on the infractions. | ||
Discord permissions generally mirror equivalent wiki staff roles, but are granted and maintained at administrator discretion. Those on leave or on inactive status will not hold staff roles on the server during their leave or inactivity periods. | ||
All moderation actions should be conducted via bot command with duration and reason to ensure log records are updated correctly. | ||
Server guidelines do not fall under listed services of Fandom Terms of Use. Blocks that are put in place on the Fallout Wiki will mirror Discord bans. Administrators may elect to mirror a Discord ban on the Fallout Wiki as an equivalent block. | ||
Participation in this server assumes understanding and acceptance of rules. |
Nukapedian verification is required to utilize voice chat channels. The same expectations apply to both voice chat and text. Take turns speaking and avoid talking over others. If you wish to participate in the voice channel, related text conversations should take place in the intercom-transcripts channel. | ||
Bots are present in the server for moderation purposes. Bot commands should only be used sparingly outside robot-repair-center and the-big-empty, with the exception of the wiki-bot, moderative commands, and music bots, which can be used in related channels. All bots must be pre-approved by an administrator. |
All potentially contentious subject matter is allowed only in the hall-of-debate channel, which requires a staff sponsorship. Reach out to a staff member for this role. Topics restricted to this channel include, but are not limited to, those of religion, politics, and divisive history. All conduct guidelines apply. Staff sponsoring a user must grant the role via bot command to ensure log records are updated correctly. |
Server nicknames do not have to match Fallout Wiki usernames, with the exception of administrators and bureaucrats. These staff members may also elect to identify their wiki username in their bio. | ||
User and nicknames cannot consist of content that would otherwise violate server rules, nor can they mirror that of a staff member, as impersonation of any kind is not allowed. |
Moderation
Staff members are responsible for updating the moderation log at the time of enforcement and upon expiry, as applicable. All moderative actions should be communicated to users via talk page, outlining both justification and duration. The suggested tiers of duration are as followed. All moderative actions and their duration are subject to administrator discretion.
Offense # | Suggested action |
---|---|
First | Warning |
Second | Kick |
Third | Three day ban |
Fourth | One week ban |
Fifth | One month ban |
Subsequent | Permanent ban |
Appeals
Also known as a SaintPain appeal, the policy grants the opportunity for any user who has been permanently blocked or banned from the wiki or its official Discord server to request it lifted after 12 months have passed from their last infraction of the rules, including the use of multiple accounts.
Vault Academy mentees
Temporary rights are granted to mentees as part of the Vault Academy chat moderation training program. The rights are granted in seven day increments, progress of which is documented and overseen by their mentor. They are differentiated by a unique color and role underneath the chat moderator role. They have the same permissions as a chat moderator and function in the same way, with the added level of required engagement with their mentor before moderative action.
