Adrienne's speech[]

“Former residents of Vault 76, my dearest friends and family, this is the voice of your overseer, Adrienne Barbeau. I know it's been a while since we've spoken, longer still since the door to Vault 76 was sealed, and one chapter of our world ended and another began. We entered as strangers from all walks of life, races, identities and creeds. When the fallout had settled, we emerged not as strangers, but as family. And if there's one thing a family does best, it's gather in celebration. Today is a milestone in our journey and in the truest tradition of the old world, one that bears marking in memory.
5 years. When our story began, many of us didn't know what to expect or what would greet us when we first stepped out into the light of Appalachia. Those first few years were hard, resources were scarce and many of us weren't sure if the footfalls behind us would belong to that of a friend or foe. From the windswept desolation of the Ash Heap to the murky gloom of the Mire, you explored, you rebuilt and you reclaimed. You had every right and even the incentive to resort to your baser instincts out here, and many of you did. And yet most of you did something unexpected, and what we hoped for. You chose friendship. You chose hope. You supported one another, helped each other build and fight and make this place your own. Today, countless numbers of us have stories to tell and bonds between us that have and will continue to define our lives. Strangers became friends... and some friends became something more. We celebrated marriages born out of a love for this shared experience. We still mourn. And we'll never forget those of us who walked these roads with us. And for whom now only memories remain.
Today, I declare this day, Tuesday November 14th our birthday as a family. I speak for us all when I say that you, ALL of you, have exceeded our every expectation and fulfilled our greatest hope. Appalachia as it is today stands as testament to the enduring faith of a community and the belief that this world could be so much more. No matter what country roads we walk tomorrow or in the years to come, Vault 76 will always be the place that brought us together. The band is warming up, the crowd is getting restless, let the parade commence and to all a happy Reclamation Day.”
