The Fabulous New Vegas sign is an unmarked location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.
Layout[]
The location is situated north of the main entrance to Camp McCarran, close to the southern wall of the Strip.
Notes[]
- As suggested by its appearance in the cinematic intro in which an NCR Veteran Ranger with an anti-materiel rifle snipes a Fiend by the El Rey Motel, the sign does have a platform on the rear face of it. However, this platform is inaccessible to the player character by normal means, nor does any NPC ever use it as in the intro.
- In the Fallout universe, the sign was altered so that "New" covers the former name "Las" as well as the "e" in "New" actually being a number "3" reversed. There is also a smiley face painted in the "o" in "Welcome."
Appearances[]
The Fabulous New Vegas sign appears in Fallout: New Vegas, in the Pip-Boy minigame Atomic Command in Fallout 4 and in the credits of the Fallout TV series episode "The Beginning."
Behind the scenes[]
- The in-game Fabulous New Vegas sign is based on the real-world Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, which is located in Paradise, Nevada.
- A physical recreation of the Fabulous New Vegas version of the sign was displayed at gaming conventions to promote the game's release.
