The map variant can be inspected by accessing the Pip-Boy, browsing through the Notes section, and pressing the Inspect button. Afterward, a message box shows up, prompting the player to confirm usage. Confirmation will identify the dig site and remove the map from the inventory.

- The map variant can be purchased from U-Mine-It! vending machines throughout the Ash Heap. It is shared across all vending machines and can only be bought once every 24 hours.
